Malwina Martin

4th dan Goju Ryu Karatedo Seiwakai
Malwina was an excellent tournament competitor. She won the National All Styles (NAS) NSW state competition many times and was very successful in a number of other competitions. She was the Australian Kata Champion in both 1995 and 1996 (undefeated). She continued to train and teach throughout the UK between 1997 and 2005 when they relocated to Brisbane. Even with two children, Maia and Oliver, she has continued to train and teach. Malwina’s particular interest is women in the martial arts and she has worked tirelessly over the last 18 years to lift the profile of women in the martial arts, quietly achieving what few women in the world have. She understands the needs and extraordinary capacity women can develop in karatedo, often getting a better feel for technique. She also works well with the knowledge that women have a different centre of gravity to men. In 2010, she travelled to Japan where she was awarded yondan by Fujiwara Shihan of Goju Ryu Seiwakai. |
